OnePlus Nord N10 5G and N100 to finally start shipping in the US region from 15 January
Being initially launched in specific markets, the OnePlus Nord N10 5G and N100 are now finally set to start shipping in the US region, OnePlus Nord release date has been finally announced, the OnePlus phones will be available from 15 January.
This would mark to be the first time for any OnePlus Nord phone to come to U.S and Canada; the mid-range budget smartphones will be exclusively available at OnePlus Nord USA carrier partners T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile.
The OnePlus N10 5G promises to offer flagship features just for $299.99($389 CAD), while the Nord N100 will be available for only $179.99($239 CAD).
The N10 5G houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 SoC processor, a 6.49-inch(16.49cm) FHD+ LCD with a high refresh rate of 90Hz.
The Smartphone offers 6GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage further expandable up to 512GB. The Nord phone packs a 4300maH battery and provides 30W fast charging.
Another standout feature of the phone remains to be the 16MP front camera and rear quad camera setup including a 64MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor.
As the name suggests N10 5G supports 5G networks, although the handset is restricted to potentially slower and mid-band 5G in the US.
The N100 comes with an even larger display of 6.52-inch HD+ punch-hole display. It avails Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 SoC chipset, 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage.
Unlike the N10 5G, N100 has comparatively weaker cameras, having an 8MP front camera and three rear cameras including a 13MP main camera, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor.
The N100 houses an even bigger battery of 5000maH with fast charging of 18W. Another significant difference is that the N100 unlike N10 5G only supports 4G networks.
Both phones contain a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and operate on Android v.10 skinned with Oxygen OS and will receive only android v.11 updates in the future, along with that OnePlus also promises two years of security updates for both handsets.
What OnePlus Nord USA plans to accomplish with this launch?
This would prove to be a major step in OnePlus’s plans for dominating the global market.
Producing affordable 5G smartphones for US markets will prove profitable as there is still minimal competition for mid-range 5G smartphones in the US.
Chinese brands in the US
OnePlus has always been one of the few Chinese technology companies which focus more on international markets than local markets.
Having launched the Nord line in Europe earlier, they now seek to create the same impact on the North American Smartphone market.
Over the years, Chinese technology companies have penetrated US markets and gained market shares for smartphones in the US region.
A recent report released by CounterPoint claims that despite the financial crisis caused by the covid-19 where most Smartphone producer’s sales declined through the first quarter of 2020, OnePlus observed a 2% sales increase in US markets.
Such data points predict a promising future for OnePlus in US markets, which were once dominated by Apple and Samsung.
The business model of OnePlus is based upon bringing high-quality products providing flagship features at mid-range prices.
Since the launch of the OnePlus One in 2014, the company has now become a household name offering alternate options to millions of customers with high-end products at low prices.
OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7pro, and OnePlus 8pro are some of the most sold handsets among the lineup.
- 5g/4g support at a low price
- Great battery life
- Fast charging available
- Oxygen OS is impressive and feature-packed
- Only one year of OS updates
- Average camera performance
- Fingerprint sensor lags
- Relatively insufficient RAM
Having considered the most obvious pros and cons, both smartphones still offer a lot to the users. Considering the OnePlus Nord USA price range, these phones still stand a strong chance in the consumer market.
These phones are not expected to blow people away with their more than mediocre features but the recent market trends showcase people’s interest in the budget to mid-range phones particularly because of their affordability and impressive features.
For those who don’t want to miss on these fascinating mid-range OnePlus phones, N10 5G and N100 can be directly bought unlocked from OnePlus.com, Amazon, and Best Buy.
With the pre-sale starting on January 8th and shipping from January 15th at 10:00 AM ET. Other than that both the models will be available through T-Mobile US and Metro by T-Mobile.
